In order for you to receive your license in the State of Colorado, you must past a written examination and a driving test.
Protect & Serve is a certified BOST testing location, making us the one stop shop for start to finish driver's education and licensing.
You need not be a Protect & Serve student to sign up for our BOST test.
What is a BOST Test?
B.O.S.T. stands for Basic Operating Skills Test of which there are two:
- The written B.O.S.T. test allows you to get a Colorado Learner's Permit.
- The behind-the-wheel B.O.S.T. test allows you to get a Colorado Driver' License.
Take this through the Colorado DMV by appointment or through Protect & Serve. To take the test through the DMV, you must provide your own vehicle with proof of registration and insurance.
When can I take the Behind-the-Wheel Test?
In order to take the drive test, you must:
- Be at least 16 years old
- Have held your permit for one full year from date of issue
- Have completed 50 hours of drive-time, including 10 hours of night-driving
What to I need to obtain a CO Driver's License from the DMV?
- Two forms of ID
- Provide your Social Security Number
- Provide a Colorado residence address
- Pass a Physical Aptitude Test (analysis made by driver's license employee of any physical ailments/disability that may affect your driving)
- Pass a Vision Test
- Pass a Written Examination
- Pass a Driving Test
